Ancestral Heirlooms
An heirloom is a vessel of memory, an item lovingly kept, held, and handed forward. It is both object and offering: a bridge between generations, a touchstone of family, place, and tradition. In Ruth's work, it is the clay form that becomes part of the family story, something made with reverence, to be held in many hands over time.
These bespoke family sets are created in ceremony, with deep honour for the lineage, love, and memory that flows through your clan, your family. Whether it is a set of cups, bowls, candle holders, or a combination unique to your family’s ritual life, each piece is formed slowly, intentionally, and with sacred purpose.
This is an invitation to honour your roots, to mark a unity, an expansion or simply the quiet beauty of your family’s togetherness. Each set is crafted in alignment with your values, symbols, or seasonal rhythms. You may wish to include ancestral markings, children’s initials/elements/star signs, or memories that speak of your connection to place and one another.
No two sets are ever the same. Every heirloom is formed within a ceremonial process: held in reverence, song, story, and prayer.
Because of the depth of this work, Ruth takes a very limited number of these commissions per season. If you feel called to co-create a set that will be passed from hand to hand, generation to generation, you are warmly invited to add your name to The Heirloom Ledger below and Ruth will contact you when a space arises.
Let’s honour your story in clay so it may live on in the hands of those you love.
“When something passes from hand to hand, we have the birth of ritual and sacrament”
